Anton was born out of the frustration that machines couldn't understand us. Computers were beating us at chess, driving our cars, and diagnosing our illnesses. Why shouldn't they be able to understand what we said to them?
After solving problems in space exploration, quantum physics, defense intelligence, and DNA sequencing with artificial intelligence, Hadayat and James joined together to think hard about the most impactful problems that could be solved with advanced natural language understanding.
As an engineer at Uber, James witnessed the growing pains of scaling to a global operations business. They recognized that every product and service has unique problems that currently needed to be solved by lots of specialized people.
Suddenly the vision took shape. Anton would remove the fundamental friction between people and their products with machines that understood their problems and helped solve them.
